Participatory video in Johannesburg
Day
Fifty has developed an exciting new partnership with the Market
Photo Workshop in Johannesburg. Our first project together
introduced students from their acclaimed Documentary Photo
Journalism course to Participatory Film-making methods. These
skills were then disseminated into the wider community through a
short film project with residents from 'Informal Settlements' in
the inner city.
View a short clip here. A London screening of the finished film will take place later this summer. contact us if you'd like to attend.

Animation Workshops at Ann Edwards School, Gloucestershire
Day
Fifty enjoyed meeting Humphrey the school hamster and working with
Miss Russell’s and Mrs Sedgwick's class on animated short
films.
Each class chose a story together and created cut-out backgrounds and characters to animate. Split into small groups they made storyboards for their scene and learnt how to use the camera and computer to make stop-frame animations. Watch their films here.
